One of my clients Jeff had been struggling with diabetes and his health was declining, his wife also has high cholesterol. Jeff’s HbA1c level was 10.5 when he first came to me, which is very high. He was resistant to see a doctor or track his blood sugar, which caused conflicts in his family. His daughter wanted to support him, but nothing seemed to work — until they found me.
Since I speak Mandarin and i also have a family history of diabetes, i was able to relate. This helped Jeff feel understood and more open to change. We worked together for 6 months.
