Happy 4th of July!!!
Many of us are planning to celebrate with BBQ. Just wanted to share 8 Grilling Tips for you.
1. Go with lean proteins.
2. Incorporate more fruits & veggies by making veggie kabobs, pineapples, veggie tray, or a colorful salad.
3. Add flavor and moisture with marinades to create protective barrier between the meat and grill heat.
4. Incorporate low sodium, lighter marinades such as citrus juices, herbs, spices, and vinegar or dry rubs instead of fat-based marinades.
5. Avoid overcooking meat and- trim off charred sections to remove sources of carcinogens.
6. Turn meat often over high heat and cook meat to just the right temperature to reduce charring.
7. Keep meat away from direct flames by spraying flames with water, closing the lid, or moving the food to another part of the grill.
8. Keep the grill clean to decrease charred debris sticking to foods.
