Employee Appreciation Event hosted by the City of Glendale Human Resources Department

I was invited to the Employee Appreciation Event hosted by the City of Glendale Human Resources Department yesterday. They wanted to promote healthy mind and healthy body to their employees and to introduce them to facilities and resources in the communities. It was fun to be part of this and I was able to make some good connections with other providers and some potential clients as well.

Lisbon Market Tour & Cooking Class

While we were in Lisbon, we signed up for a market tour and a cooking class. We went to the local wet market to purchase the ingredients, including the local sea bream, different colorful veggies, did taste testing of the different bread and cheeses at the bakery and tried some roasted pig. Then we went back to the kitchen to prepare the 4-course meals. We also learned to open our own oyster and fileting the fish. We had a lot of fun and met people from around the world. Will definitely try to do a cooking class wherever we visit in the future.

Sintra, Portugal

After spending a few days in Algarve, we drove up to Lisbon and Sintra area. We visited the famous National Palace of Pena and Monserrate. Both palaces are unique in different ways, love the beautiful architecture!

Lost Weight, Gained Muscle and Decreased Fat Percentage

Joy was thankful that she joined A Healthier You Journey program and lost weight, going from 153 lbs to 146.6 lbs (her ideal body weight) in 3 months and was able to maintain it afterward. Her waist shrunk by 3 inches, and her hips by 1.5 inches. She also experienced non-scale victories, fitting into clothes that were once too tight. I was able to provide her weekly accountability and tailored meal plans, incorporating her Asian cultural food preferences. This journey not only transformed Joy physically but also instilled a new mindset about food, leading to a happier and more confident self.

Pilates Class at the Local BASI Pilates Studio

After finishing my Pilates teacher training retreat in Portugal, I had my 1st session of private and group mat pilates class at the local BASI pilates studio, glad to find a host studio I can obtain my observation and teaching hours and continue my practice.

Algarve, Portugal

After the Pilates teacher training, hubby Oscar Hung joined me in touring Portugal for another week. We spent a few days in the Algarve area, walking along one of the most beautiful costlines in the world and went kayaking to visit a few cool caves. Absolutely amazed by God’s creation❤️

Support Mom with Breastfeeding Journey

Theresa’s cousin Manli faced challenges with breastfeeding for her 5-day-old baby. Despite doubts from others, they were determined to exclusively breastfeed and found me through Yelp. During the 90-minute consultation, I was able to address all their concerns. The moment was miraculous: the baby was able to sustain latch for the longest time since birth, we were able to confirm milk transfer with pre and post weight check, and we were able to find a comfortable latching position for mom. Leaving the consultation empowered and relieved, Manli feels confident in her breastfeeding journey after my support.

Let’s talk about quick-fix weight loss drugs. Yes, they might promise rapid weight loss, but at what cost? While these drugs have their place, especially for managing conditions like diabetes, relying on them for quick weight loss is not the answer.
