When you are trying to watch your weight, portion control is very important, but it is very hard to stop at 1/2 cup of noodles, since most noodle dishes (such as pho, ramen, japchae, etc) have big portions of noodles.

One trick you can do is replace the noodles with low carb & calorie alternatives such as Konjac noodles, or you can mix the two together.
